first light

This was Phil Spence's first album and where he explored different musical sounds from the breadth of 60's and 70's music. It gives a nod to Reggae, Funk, Disco and Folk but is essentially a 70's Pop/Rock Album.

The drummer, Don Lebler Jr (son of the legendary Don Lebler), used innovative technology for the times such as syndrums. Don and the album producer, Peter Wragg, were two-thirds of a Brisbane-based New Wave band that had chart success in the UK.

There are only 6 original LP's available for sale. Contact Phil Spence to find out more and grab your copy before they are gone forever.

Holy Warrior - Phil Spence

Holy Warrior was recorded and produced by Nick Coetzee in Brisbane, Australia in the early 90s. Nick went on to be US based, recording music for movies, artists, and bands. This album is a departure from Phil’s first album. The style of songs is different, and all the instrumentation was done on keyboards.

On the Inside - Phil Spence

This album of 14 tracks is representative of the 90s and 2000s where Phil performed solo, duo and band in his hometown, across Australia, and in other countries. The songs were recorded in Phil’s lounge room on a Teac Tascam 8 track recorder. While the overall product does not have the quality of an expensive studio produced album, the songs are excellently written and arranged, and the musicianship is par excellence. Stylistically the songs range from Claptonesque to dirty blues/rock.
